Prolapse and Pessaries
Jess Vanson is a hybrid Sports/MSK and pelvic health physiotherapist. After working in private practice and sports (soccer, AFL, rugby and performing arts arenas) and working heavily in the lumbo-pelvic-hip and lower limb areas Jess branched out in further studies in pelvic health to fill in the missing link between hips and the pelvic girdle.
In 2018 Jess completed a Professional Certificate in the Conservative management of pelvic organ Prolapse through the University of South Australia which sees her in the extended scope practice of pessary fitting. Jess now works heavily with post-natal women and the conservative management of POP with a holistic overview to include both pelvic floor rehabilitation and whole body strength and conditioning.
This is not a session to learn how to fit pessaries - it is perfect for those who already manage women with prolapse (physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, PT’s, chiros, GP’s) but who don’t do pessary fittings, with the aim of learning more about when referral to a pessary fitting practitioner
could be a good step.

- What is prolapse and how do we assess it
- Conservative Management options including how to apply the Bio-Pyscho-Social (BPS) model to POP management
- POP and exercise - beyond the anti-gravity, low impact domain!
- Pessary - what is it and who might benefit
